Paid for by Lewis For Attorney General
About
Hiram
My name is Hiram Carson Lewis, IV -- I proudly share my
name with my father, my grandfather and my
great-grandfather. Not only do I have the honor of
sharing their name, I am privileged to follow in a great
tradition of Service and Devotion to West Virginia. I am an
eighth-generation West Virginian, and my family has
served proudly in the Military, always answering the call of
our Nation.
I was born in Welch, McDowell County, where I was raised
until my family moved to Weirton, Hancock County. I
played football at Weir High before going to college at
WVU. After graduating, I enlisted in the Army, joining 3rd
Ranger Battalion. After putting in proud years there, I
returned to WVU for Law School.
After 9-11, I felt I had to answer the President’s call to
service, and I re-enlisted in the West Virginia National
Guard. As an Officer in the WV Guard, I was deployed to
Iraq in 2003 and 2004 with the rest of our WV fighting men
and women. And, in 2005, the National Guard sent me to
New Orleans to spend a couple of months helping to rebuild
after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
I spent several years living in Morgantown, in Monongalia
County, where I still have a law office, and am now residing
in Charleston, Kanawha County, and working on
establishing a Law Office here.
I have an amazing nine year-old son, Zac, who attends
West Virginia public schools. I am proud to watch Zac grow
up and value every moment I spend with him.
Every time I look at my son, I thank God for blessing me with
such a wonderful little life to raise, and I thank God that I
have the opportunity to raise my son here in West Virginia.
I often take Zac to the mountains, we are both avid sportsmen. My family has a camp near
Elkhurst where we all often go to spend holidays hunting or fishing.
I am a member of Chestnut Ridge Church in Morgantown, a community which is a great blessing in
my life. I am also active as a coach of my son's Baseball team, and still serve as a member of the
West Virginia National Guard.
As you probably recall, I ran for Attorney
General in 2004. At the time, I believed that
Attorney General McGraw was leading his
office down a path that was seriously
undermining the economy of our state.
In articulating that belief, I came within a
handful of votes of unseating McGraw. In
fact, I lost by about half of a percent.
This time, I believe that the people of West
Virginia are fed up with having to watch their
family members leave the state, their jobs
disappear, and the prices they pay at the
store go up.
West Virginians are fed up with watching The
Attorney General make it impossible for jobs
to be created here, and hand out millions of dollars to his friends and donors, undermining our
government and our economy.
So I am running for Attorney General, and I hope you will support my effort to make West
Virginia a better place to live and work. For all of our sakes, and for the sake of our children.
Hiram Lewis is a
Soldier, Proud Father and Respected Attorney.
